Massive $400,000 Video Poker Jackpot Won In Las Vegas

There was a massive video poker jackpot that was hit by a lucky local resident on the same day that the NFL approved the Raider's move to Las Vegas. It was interesting that the big win occurred on a game that is pretty much considered to be a novelty version of video poker by most casinos. But apparently, not
by some players. One of them for sure!

Word of the huge video poker jackpot spread throughout the gambling community with a tweet from The Cosmopolitan Casino of  Las Vegas. They tweeted an image of the $400,000 jackpot hand-pay screen, as seen here on the left. The lucky player's game was 100-hand triple double bonus video poker.

When 100-hand video poker is played, the cards are first dealt to one hand on the bottom of the screen with duplicate hands dealt above for the other 99 hands. The player then touches the cards that they wish to hold on the bottom hand. The identical cards are also held on the other 99 hands before they receive the deal. In this case the first hand happened to be four aces plus a deuce kicker. So all 100 hands were big winners at the same time.

The player was betting five dollars per hand. That's a $500 bet on every deal. And when it hit, he won on all 100 hands. That's $4,000 per hand - $400.000! A great day at the office as we say around here.

Now I have to tell you that it's a lot of fun playing the 100-play video poker machines.
